We hold regular recruitment events throughout the year to best fit in around rehearsing for our concerts and competitions. For enquiries regarding details of the next event please contact us using the form further down the page or send a message via our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/thesongbirdschoirkettering/
When and where do you rehearse?
We rehearse every Tuesday at All Saints Church from 7.15pm to 9.15pm, which includes a social break.
What kind of songs do you sing?
Our song choices are largely based on what members of the choir would like to sing and as we all have different tastes these can range from sacred pieces to pop classics. Suggestions are made to the committee who then liaise with the musical director who makes the final decision. Recent repertoire has included The Lord Bless You And Keep You (sung at Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding), I Say A Little Prayer, various songs from The Greatest Showman and the Sister Act films, a festive song in Swahili and various a cappella arrangements.
Do I have to audition or sing solo?
No audition is required to join us. Simply turn up and decide on the section where your voice might fit best - Soprano 1 (the highest voices), Soprano 2 (slightly lower) or Alto (our lowest voices) - you can always change your mind. If you'd like help the musical director will be happy to guide you. Solos for concerts etc are always on a voluntary basis.
